Get a quick processing estimate
One required number. Refine it if you want.
Your total credit and debit card sales for a typical month. A rough number is fine.
Processing fees divided by card volume. Leave blank for a Crane-only estimate.
Your entered effective rate always overrides this estimate.
Leave blank and we will estimate from a $65 average sale.
Card-present processing starts at 2.19% + 9¢ per transaction, month to month with no long-term contract. Terminals take tap, chip, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Most merchants are live within 3–5 business days of approval, and when you call, you reach Aarish or Azaan.
Quick processing estimate from your inputs. Published starting rate 2.19% + 9¢ per card-present transaction. Savings compares processing fees only. When you leave your current rate blank, we show Crane's estimate without claiming savings. Results vary with volume, card mix, and current processor.
Send your name and phone. We fill out the application with you, and you review and sign it. Your estimate comes with it, so you don’t have to repeat the numbers.
Review my statement.
A statement is optional. Higher-volume businesses can qualify for a lower rate than 2.19% + 9¢.
Add a PDF or snap a photo of any page that shows your fees. We reply within one business day, and the review covers whether switching is worth it at all. No statement? That's fine: tell us roughly what you have today.
Snap each page on your phone and text it. That works just as well, and plenty of people prefer it.
A statement shows your processing history, and depending on your processor it may show a bank account number on the funding line. Black that part out if you like. We need the fee and volume lines, not your bank details. How we handle it. Want to skip the review? Start my application with just a name and phone.
Questions about card fees
How are credit card processing fees calculated?
Your cost has three parts: interchange, which the card brands set; assessments, which Visa and Mastercard set; and the markup your processor adds. Interchange and assessments are the same no matter who processes your payments. The markup is what varies, and it is what to compare.
What does this processing fee calculator need from me?
One number: your average monthly card volume. Add your monthly transaction count if you know it; leave it blank and we estimate it from a $65 average sale. This credit card processing fees calculator uses them to estimate your current effective rate. For exact figures, send a statement.
Why is my effective rate higher than the rate I was quoted?
A quoted rate usually covers one category of card. Your effective rate is your total monthly fees divided by your total volume, so it also carries downgrades, assessments, monthly charges, and any add-ons. To compare two providers, compare effective rates. Your statement shows yours; a quote doesn’t.
