Online costs more than the counter. Here is why.

The card networks charge more when the card is not physically present. That part is set by Visa and Mastercard, not by your processor. What sits on top of it is set by whoever boarded you, and that is the part worth reading.

What moves your online rate
Your card mixRewards, corporate and international cards cost more, and online attracts more of them.
Your average ticketA flat per-transaction fee takes a larger share of a smaller ticket.
In person too?One blended rate across both hides which side is actually expensive.

So there is no rate on this page. Online rates swing too much for one number to be honest about yours. Send a statement and we will show you what you are paying now, online and in person, split out. If you are already priced well we will say so.

How the review works

Three steps, usually inside a business day.

1

You send a recent statement

One month is enough. If you take payments in person as well as online, send that too so we can separate the two.

2

We split card-present from card-not-present

You get the two rates side by side, with the interchange floor shown separately from the markup, so you can see which part is negotiable.

3

We tell you whether we can beat it

Sometimes the answer is no. Online margins are tighter than counter margins, and a straight no is faster than a meeting.

What we can do depends on how you take payments today, what your platform supports, and your volume. We will be specific about that before quoting anything.

An online quote should show its work.

Before You Decide

Online pricing depends on card mix, average ticket, payment flow, platform support, and volume.

Send one statement. Find out what switching is actually worth.

No commitment. No contract. We read the statement, split card-present from online, and tell you what we can and cannot do.
