Most merchants are live within 3–5 business days of approval. We handle the paperwork, the terminal setup, and the configuration. You don't fill out any forms or make any calls — we do it.
No. We time the cutover so your new terminal is live before your old setup goes inactive. There's no gap in your ability to take cards. Most merchants don't even notice the transition.
Most of our merchants come from Square, Clover, Stripe, or their bank's default processor. A few come from larger ISOs where the rates crept up over time.
Depends on the system. Many POS platforms are processor-agnostic and work fine with Elavon terminals. Others are tied to a specific processor (Square's software only works with Square's hardware, for example). We'll tell you upfront whether your current setup is compatible before anything changes.
2.29% + $0.09 per transaction, plus a $19.99/month platform fee. That's it. No statement fees, no batch fees, no annual fees, no PCI non-compliance surcharges. Equipment is separate — rental starts at $15/month, or you can buy outright.
No. Crane uses transparent fixed pricing — you know your rate, platform fee, and equipment cost before you sign anything.
Interchange is the base cost of every card transaction — set by Visa, Mastercard, and the card-issuing banks. It varies by card type (debit vs. rewards vs. corporate) and how the transaction is processed. Most flat-rate processors charge a high bundled percentage regardless of card type — which means you overpay on every transaction.
High-volume merchants can qualify for a lower effective rate based on monthly card volume and card mix. If most of your transactions are debit or basic credit cards, your actual cost is lower than 2.29%. We'll show you what your effective rate would be when we run your estimate.
Gateway access, Elavon's reporting tools, PCI compliance guidance, and ongoing account support. There are no separate fees for PCI, reporting, or customer support. One flat monthly charge, nothing added.
Elavon charges a standard chargeback fee when a dispute is filed — this is standard across all processors. We don't add our own markup on top.
Next-day funding on all approved accounts. Funds from today's transactions are in your bank account tomorrow. Batches need to settle by midnight for next-day deposit — we configure your terminal to auto-settle so you never have to think about it.
All of them. Tap, chip, swipe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and contactless cards. If a customer has a Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or Amex, it works. We also support debit PIN transactions.
We work with Ingenico terminals — the Desk series for countertop retail, salon, and restaurant setups, and the Move series for portable and table-side checkout. You can rent (from $15/month) or buy outright. We'll recommend the right terminal for your business type and configure it correctly before you go live.
If you're renting, we replace it — that's part of the rental. If you bought outright, we'll help you get it resolved quickly through Elavon's support line. We don't leave you without a working terminal.
PCI guidance is included in your onboarding. Basic PCI compliance is covered under your monthly platform fee.
You have a direct line to a real person — us. Not a national call center, not a ticket queue. For terminal issues outside business hours, Elavon's 24/7 support line is also available. Most questions get answered the same day.
Elavon is a U.S. Bank company and one of the top 5 payment processors in the world — processing over $400 billion annually. As an authorized Elavon agent, Crane Processing gives you direct access to their infrastructure.
Crane Processing is an independent sales organization (ISO) — we act as the local agent for Elavon. Banks typically add their own markup on top of processor rates and don't specialize in payments.
